Is Your Four-Year Old Prepared for the Social, Emotional and Cognitive Challenges of Kindergarten?

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is a FREE preschool program for children that are 4 years old by September 1 of the year they enroll. Full day and half day programs are available.

Children who attend a high quality program in the year or two before kindergarten are better prepared for school academically, socially and emotionally. The focus of GSRP is to prepare children to make the most out of their time in school and to give parents the opportunity to actively encourage their children in the academic arena.

GSRP’s mission is to provide a nourishing program to enhance children’s self-esteem, social and emotional, cognitive and physical development, in a hands on developmentally appropriate and safe setting. The program includes parent involvement, field trips and uses the HighScope Curriculum which focuses on child initiated learning.

One or more of these circumstances may qualify your child for tuition free preschool:

  • Family Income
  • Disability or Developmental Delay
  • Challenging Behavior
  • English as a Second Language
  • Parent/Guardian low educational attainment
  • Abuse/Neglect of child or Parent
  • Environmental risk(s) including: a single parent home, sibling issues, teen parent and homeless or without stable housing
